Yaesu FT41R

Post by G1HQK on Mon Nov 09, 2009 4:28 am

Yaesu FT41R 70cm Handheld boxed with original accessories, in excellent condition.

This is a lovely set, bullet proof and built like a tank.

See excellent reviews on www.eham.com/reviews

Owned by me from new, not fiddled with.

Basic spec: 430-440mhz, FM, upto 4.5w (on 12v), CTCSS board fitted, 150 memories, drop in charger.

Do not mistake this for a cheapo Hong Kong HT, this is a quality radio!

Radioworld have one listed on their secondhand section for 120!

Asking 55.00 ono plus postage (at cost) or swap for scanner in same condition, PRO2042, 2006, Yupiteru W.H.Y.

Thanks, I will take photos tomorrow, it is boxed up in the loft at the moment. I will send anyone interested photos by email if requested. As for a bargain, well I am hoping to sell for the 55 I think it is worth every penny, but it is surplus to requirements and have my eye on a new toy! Ian

You can indeed modify it for 430-470 mhz but i believe it does not have the 6.25khz step to make it bang on for PMR

First remove the six screws holding the back cover. (Its 4 on the back case, and 2 on the bottom of the battery compartment.)
Carefully separate the front and back halves. (Careful not to damage the flex curcuit connecting the 2 halves.)
With the front of the radio facing down, Remove the 2 brass screws holding the second board to the microprocessor board. (This is the board connected to the front case.) Carefully pry the board from the microprocessor board, exposing the microprocessor board. You should now have the front cover with the microprocessor board, And the other 2 boards separated by the flex curcuit.
Look at the microprocessor board lower left corner. There you will se solder jumper pads as illustrated below with the following pins jumpered: uP PINS ,2,4,6, AND 7 ARE JUMPERED

REMOVE JUMPERS 2 AND 4
FOR OUT OF BAND OPERATION.
o o o6o
o2o o o
o o o7o
o4o o o

Reassemble unit in reverse order, and install screws.
Install battery pack.
Hold down (MR), and (2) And turn power on.
Turn power back of.
Hold down (UP ARROW), and (DOWN ARROW) and turn power on.
Now keyboard entry is direct, and unit will:
TX / RX:
430-470MHz
RX:
430-470, 800-900MHz

FT41R

Post by G1HQK on Mon Dec 07, 2009 3:40 am

Hi

Just to clarify the set has NOT been touched inside at all, I do not use radios intended for the amatuer bands for out of band use, that said as another post has said it could be modified if required.
