Just another newbie




Greetings! I am from Columbus,Ohio and just got my license at 62! Finally something is new again. I have been usinf all kinds of radios and electrical equipment through the years and I am also stumbled upon this site and just thought I'd join! I know that radios are all over the world so it's all the same to me. Well,that's it. 73's for now. Jim

Hi Jim welcome along, what class of licence do you have? I know they are different over there & that one class keeps 10 meters alive over there.
I also understand that you have had a lot of concessions given since 9/11 planning wise.
We have 3 classes over here. Foundation which gives a maximum of 10 watts on HF, VHF & UHF, Intermediate which gives up to 50 watts & a few extras & Advanced or full which gives up to 400 watts & several other big bonuses like variations being available to our licence, Special Event (GB) licences being available & things like Maritime Mobile operation etc.
