2 meter and 70cm FM in Europe

Post by 43jm047 on Sun Jun 26, 2011 6:04 pm

Hello everyone

I was after some information of FM operation in Europe on 2M and 70CM.
Besides repeaters, is there a national simplext channel?
In Australia we have ones for 2 and 70.
Is there such a beast in mainland Europe or is it different in each country.
The places I'm refering too are Germany, Sweden, Baltic states, Poland and the Czech Republic.
I'm talking my Wouxun with me and hope to make some simplex and repeater contacts.

The band plan is not a legal requirement, but it is a plan agreed region by region by the IARU (International Amateur Radio Union.) And yes, there is in general, but with some differences, to take account of local band allocation, an international plan.
Even at VHF & UHF international contact is possible, so not having a agreement is a recipe for a disaster.
