Defective d/a memory chip in 857D

Post by Guest on Fri Nov 09, 2007 7:03 am

This was the reason that all stored information never returned to my rig on switch on and Yaseu have repaired the rpoblem without any hassle and the rig will be with me in the next few days.

They want to keep it, to run for some time in the lab to se if the problem happens again.

I cant say how brilliant the Yaseu repair department have been.

Maybe Simon007 know a bit more about what could have caused this problem.

Is it simply that I have been given the radio a lor of use, is it a common fault to have this go in just under a year! ?

In saying that I have probably used my radio more times in this 8 months than the averadge jo with a 9 - 5 job.

Just one of them things mate. I wouldn't "read" too much into it. Just be glad it's done it now and not when the radio is 12 month's and 1 day old. Though don't you get a 2yr warranty with it. I'm sure my Handheld has 2yrs warranty.

Did you like it "read"? lol

Seems to be just one of those things indeed and not much news anywhere about this one. Better I think to hard mod it than the software, thats the best for me as then you know how and what was done, and there are maybe less chances that something fails

I am just waiting for the radio to return and for me to have enough time off work to set up the rig, get a couple of mates over to put the new wire antenna up and then away I go.

But thak god is was all covered and didnt have a pay a penny.

I have to say a big thumbs up to the Yaseu repair deprtment, they have been excellent.
