500 watt SWR neter capacity - good model.

Post by Guest on Tue Dec 18, 2007 11:16 pm

Due to my Dads worsening ill health, I am setting up some 11M equpiment round there as I spend a lot of time there at the moment as well as home.

I will be using the VR900 and KLV350 linear, but I need an SWR meter capable of handeling the power out from the linear.

It will be connected to a 5/8 wave vertical silver rod with maximum power PEP of 500w.

Anybody advise on makes of SWR meters that will do the job here ?

I am not a fan of Zetagi (sorry to any zetagi fans of the forum) so wondering what cross needle SWR meter they would advise, just for the 11M and where to obtain in the UK?

How about either a DAIWA or something similar, they seem to make them with up to 2kw handling.

Am sorry to hear about your father, my thoughts are with you

Sorry I can't help you Eddie on this one as I don't have a SWR meter. I use the built in SWR meter on the radio...

I am also sorry to hear about your Father and hope he gets better soon mate. Good idea on setting up at another location for the radio.

Speak soon,

Dave

Yep the Daiwa CN-101L handles upto 1.5 KW & is only around 60. Great value.

And as above, I'm sorry to hear about your father.
